Here's What We're All AboutThe York University Musicians' Society (formerly the Guitarists' League) is a student organisation at York University. Our goal is to promote music as a means of recreation as well as a career path within the York community. We do so by providing a platform for students York University to learn and perform varying styles and genres of music. York University Musicians Society (YUMS) community members specialize in genres including (but not limited to) hard rock, heavy metal, pop, folk, blues, and jazz. YUMS also provides for an easily accessible jam space on campus during designated hours. The jam space is equipped with several guitars and other instruments. On occasion, we hold recording sessions (members only) to get a feel for what it's like to record.
YUMS is open to all forms of musical expression. We welcome members from any musical background -- drums, piano, ukulele, harmonica, brass, wind, electronic, you name it. It's that kind of diversity that makes YUMS a great networking opportunity for musicians. Many of our members have found strong personal and professional relationships through YUMS, and we think you will too.
